Stainless Steel 310 Sheets is typically used in the 800 Degree F – 1500 Degree F temperature range where it is stabilized against chromium carbide precipitation by the addition of niobium, which results in the precipitation of niobium carbides. Stainless Steel 310 Plates is also suitable for high temperature service, due to its good mechanical properties. Stainless Steel 310 Coils is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, sterilizing solutions, many organic chemicals, and a wide variety of inorganic chemicals. SS 310 Sheets is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel similar to other steel with an addition of Columbium and Tantalum. SS 310 Plates achieve their stainless characteristics through the formation of an invisible and adherent Chromium rich oxide film.
SS 310 Coils is stabilized against chromium carbide formation by the addition of titanium. Stainless Steel 310S Sheets can be used in applications requiring repeated heating in the range of 800 Degree F and 1650 Degree F (427 Degree C – 899 Degree C). Stainless Steel 310S Plates are extensively inured to the effect of sulfurous gases, especially above 900 Degree C, which is very low. Stabilized with columbium, Stainless Steel 310S Coils is preferable for aqueous and low temperature environments due to its good resistance to inter-granular attack.
