The higher carbon composition version, UNS S31803 Sheets, has better high temperature and creep qualities. The usual chemical composition of Duplex Steel S31803 Plates, as well as composition limits for the product according to several standards, is supplied for the product, with the requisite standard being fully met as specified on the order. Duplex Steel S31803 Coils is a stabilised stainless steel with exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion when exposed to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 427 to 816°C. UNS S32205 Sheets have a high carbon content for improved high-temperature creep resistance. Duplex Steel S32205 Plates is stabilised with columbium, or sometimes tantalum, in addition to its increased carbon content. Heating for long periods of time in the chromium carbide precipitation range may affect the general resistance of Duplex Steel S32205 Coils in severe corrosive media.
In the heat affected zone (HAZ) of the weld region, Duplex Steel 2205 Sheets minimises hazardous carbide precipitation. Duplex Steel 2205 Plates is also an excellent choice for large welded products that can’t be re-annealed. Duplex Steel 2205 Coils is also a reliable weld with strong mechanical and corrosion properties, which is essential for many applications and components.
